How is it done?

Spray Paving Application is carried out over a number of stages, depending on the:  

• Condition of concrete
• Amount and degree of cracks
• Complexity of pattern/s
• Number of colour/s

The key to a successful Spray Paving job is the preparation

At Spray Pave Australia-Goldfields we have an 8 stage cleaning process, which includes a number of passes with a very high pressure cleaner, acid etching, neutralising of the acid, and priming the concrete in preparation for the spraying.
At this stage all concrete repairs will be done as well
**Please note that due to the unstable nature of the concrete, crack repairs are not covered in the warranty**

Stencils and Sprays, to make your concrete look Great

After the 8 stage cleaning process, any areas not to be sprayed are masked off, to ensure that the sprayed on product only goes onto the surface it is intended for. Then, if the pattern calls for it, a base coat is applied with either a broom, roller, squeegee or sprayed on, This is the colour that will be visible as a grout line when all the stencils are removed.

Prior to commencement of the job the client has picked the patterns and colour that they want, we now lay out the pattern, with either stencils, or custom taping.

The Spray Pave material is now sprayed on. The air pressure, mixture additives used will vary and allowances are made for:-

• The days temperature
• The texture required
• The build-up required
• The number of coats (usually 2 or 3)

If the client has requested a border in a different colour to the main pattern, this is sprayed first, then masked off, to protect it while we spray the main colour.
Once the border and main coats have been applied it is now time to spray any fleck, or shading. Flecking is the process of spraying a light coat of a darker colour over the whole job so that it leaves speckles. The results of this can be quite spectacular, and it will also help to camouflage any dirt spots or leaves over time

The long awaited Reveal

After all the spraying has been done it is now time to Reveal the job by pulling up all the stencils and tapes. after a thorough blow down and sweep the surface is ready for the sealer application.

Protect and Seal

The sealer is applied with either a roller, broom, or spraying, and the job may take anywhere from 2-5 coats depending on a number of different factors. Sealing protects the work from oil, grease, coffee and wine stains etc, whilst also highlighting the works.

Your new concrete area

The job is done, the tools are all packed away, the area is left exactly how we found it, with one huge exception, your old concrete has been given a new lease of life and looks fantastic
